- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until smooth.
- Unroll and slightly roll out the puff pastry sheet on parchment. Score a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture inside the scored border, avoiding the edges.
- Sprinkle blueberries evenly over the filling.
- Brush the edges with the beaten egg.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 to 25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly. Mix powdered sugar and milk to create glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over the danish.
- Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh blueberries if available.
- Ensure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing.
- Adjust sugar levels in the glaze according to taste.
