Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion (diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 ½ tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1–2 teaspoons white sugar (or to taste)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, sauté the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.

- Bring the chili to a boil. Once it starts bubbling, turn the heat down and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until it thickens.

Notes
- This chili can be adjusted for spice by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
- Feel free to add beans if desired for a heartier chili.
