Description

Deliciously grilled chicken thighs marinated with smoked paprika and BBQ sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry with paper towels and place in a bowl or resealable bag.
  2. Mix smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Add olive oil to form a paste.
  3. Rub the mixture onto the chicken, coating all sides well.
  4. Cover or seal and marinate for at least 30 minutes, ideally 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  5. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and oil the grates.
  6. Grill chicken skin-side down for 5–6 minutes per side to develop a sear.
  7. Begin brushing BBQ sauce on both sides, continuing to grill until the sauce is caramelized and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Remove from grill and rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  • For best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
