Description

Delicious and easy chocolate oat bars made with quick oats, rice cereal, and mini chocolate chips.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups quick oats
  • 1 1/2 cups rice cereal
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix oats and cereal together in a bowl and set aside.
  2. In a small sauce pan, bring brown sugar, honey, and butter to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Lower to medium-low and gently boil for 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and pour over the cereal/oats.
  5. Mix until evenly coated and press into an 8×8 inch square pan.
  6. Immediately sprinkle with the chocolate chips and press them down.
  7. Let bars cool all the way before cutting.
  8. Wrap individually in plastic wrap.

Notes

  • These bars can be stored for a week at room temperature.
  • For added flavor, consider adding nuts or dried fruit.
