Description

This grilled ham steak with apricot glaze is easy to make and incredibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ham steak (fully cooked, center-cut, one inch thick)
  • 1 cup apricot glaze

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apricot glaze and set aside.
  2. Slash the fat edge of the steak in several places to prevent it from curling up.
  3. Place the ham into a shallow container and pour the glaze over top.
  4. Marinate for a few hours, turning the ham over to marinate both sides.
  5. Preheat the grill on medium-high heat and oil the grate.
  6. Remove the ham steak and place on the hot grill.
  7. Grill on the hot grill for 4 to 5 minutes per side. Brush with leftover marinade occasionally on both sides.
  8. Move the ham out of the flame if there is a flare up at any time!
  9. Cook until heated throughout and the glaze is browned. You don’t have to actually cook it, just heat it up as the ham is cooked already, so don’t dry it out!
  10. Remove, slice, and serve.

Notes

  • Be careful not to dry out the ham while grilling.
  • Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of the steak.
